Right before leaving for Asia, the pastor’s wife, Sara, was seriously injured while standing in faith—rebuking a literal storm over the waters at a floating village church. As she prayed against the raging winds, an anchor snapped loose, and a heavy cable struck her abdomen with violent force. Men had to dive into the water to rescue her. The damage to her internal organs was severe. However, after an x-ray, the doctor said they didn’t see any internal damage and she was sent home.
The next day, her pain became unbearable, and she was taken to a new doctor. After further scans, they discovered the true extent of the damage—she needed emergency surgery. So, Sara underwent emergency abdominal surgery. Her intestines were badly injured, and the situation was critical. While she remained in the hospital in great pain, many prayed daily for her healing.
The doctor later said that if she had arrived just one hour later, she wouldn’t have survived. But God wasn’t finished. When our team arrived in Asia days later, the pastor picked us up at the airport and immediately brought us to the hospital. As we stepped into Sara’s room, tears streamed down her face. No words were needed. We gathered around her bed—singing songs of healing, anointing her with oil, and calling on the name above every name. The presence of God filled the room—thick, holy, undeniable.
Though 11 lives were lost that day, God spared hers. Under the Spirit’s leading, we encouraged her: “Don’t fear the storm. Keep your eyes on Jesus.” As we ministered, something shifted. Strength began to rise in her frail body.
In that same hospital room sat a 16-year-old girl—their spiritual daughter, once rejected by her entire family—who was deeply touched by the love of God and broke down in tears. As we turned to pray for her, the atmosphere broke open even more. Then it happened.
Sara, who had needed two people to help her sit just hours earlier, suddenly rose up in her bed—on her own—stretched out her hands, and began to pray. Tears filled the room as joy filled her heart. In her own words: “I feel like I’m not even sick anymore.”
That’s not all. While Sara was recovering in the hospital, their home was broken into, and the money they had worked so hard to save was stolen. The enemy tried to strike from every side—but God had already made provision. Through the generosity of many of you, the hospital costs were covered. Peace was restored. Joy returned.
And through it all, the Lord revealed Himself as Father, Protector, Healer, and Provider.
He still rescues. He still heals. And He still writes stories of redemption in the midst of storms.
