“Then the Lord reached out and touched my mouth and said, “Look, I have put my words in your mouth!” -Jeremiah 1:9
One word out of your mouth can create massive change. That’s why what you say matters. Your voice is a dynamic and active weapon. It carries tremendous power (James 3:5). It’s a tool that builds up or a weapon of destruction that tears things down (Ephesians 4:29). It was designed to produce and cause mighty things to happen. Our voices were never meant to be hidden, but the enemy wants to silence our voices.
I used to be terrified to speak to people, speak in front of them, and pray for them. However, whenever I prayed, people would say it was powerful. They would say my prayers broke things. Honestly, I didn’t see that and felt very inadequate, so hiding my voice felt safe. Then, one day, at a gathering, I was asked if I had a word for someone. Out of fear, I said no because I had talked myself out of it. I thought it wasn’t good enough. After the meeting, I went to my car feeling horrible and immediately repented for my lack of action as I sat there in tears. At that moment, the Lord showed me it wasn’t my voice I was withholding–it was His voice I was withholding. It was His heart I was holding back. Someone needed to be encouraged that day, and I chose to withhold His voice.
My friend, if the enemy could do one thing, it would be to silence your voice. For your voice is mighty- it carries the frequency of heaven, shifts atmospheres, and releases heaven on earth. Demons tremble when they hear the Spirit of God behind your voice. And, of course, the enemy wouldn’t try to silence something if it wasn’t powerful. When you speak, you become the voice of God in situations. Not only does it ignite and cause supernatural explosions in your life, but also in the lives of others. Your voice is so much bigger than what you think. Don’t withhold it, but let God’s heart spew forth out of it. And just as I received encouragement to use my voice, it’s time for you to unleash yours and expand the kingdom. No one else has your unique sound; your voice was designed to impact the world around you! If God’s voice created everything, what’s your voice capable of doing- since you are made in His image?
